Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem

Ati` Allah wa ati` ar-rasula wa uli 'l-amri minkum - Obey Allah, obey the Prohet and obey those in authority among you. [4:59]

In the previous session we made an introduction and speaking awliyaullah and about how Allah swt gave awliyaullah what he did not give others and prepared them so that they can guide the Ummah towards the Last Days and through the Last Days to reach Judgment Day in the best way, taking from what the Prophet (s)   has given them through the knowledge of realities, which is knowledge of dhaahir and knowledge of the hidden.

When Abdul Wahhaab ash-Sha`rani was asked about ilm al-baatin, he said that to us there is only one `ilm, `ilm adh-dhaahir, because for us everything is not hidden. For us is the knowledge of realties; already these discoveries have been made so we know what has been hidden. According to the level of the wali, what is hidden from them he might know it. So to them, there are not two different kinds of knowledge. There is knowledge always appearing to them and this is the knowledge of realities. We explained about that - about the importance of awliyaullah. The session yesterday was different… you were asking about the essence, so it was the session before.

Awliyaullah: what is there job? What Grandshaykh said has a very, very deep meaning. He said it in a way that I feel shy to say it but we have to be more polite, because a wali can say about himself whatever he likes but a student cannot repeat as he says it; we have to try to put it in a way that is acceptable to us.

That awliyaullah …what am I going to say? Awliyaullah are people who are cleaners; they clean what we make dirty. They have been carrying that responsibility which is a heavy responsibility. La yukallifullahu nafsa illa wu`saha. According to their levels, awliyaullah carry the dirtiness of their followers (put in a polite way; he used another word). We dump our dirtiness on them. That is why it is said that on the Day of Judgment, from Allah's infinite mercy or love to His servant, for ummat an-Nabi, that they believed in him and didn't associate anyone with him, Allah swt sends His mercy on them and because of that we will be feeling shy and sweating because we were running away and throwing our dirtiness everywhere and in return Allah swt is sending His mercy on us.

Awliyaullah are inheriting from Muhammadun Rasulullah the manifestation from the verse, "wa ma arsalanaaka illa rahmatan lil-`alameen. - We have sent you not except as a mercy to humanity." And how do we explain that mercy? It is impossible to give the explanation of that meaning in full; whatever we say, it falls short.

When we say that Allah swt has mercy on me and my family it means we have a good life; we're not sick, we have healthy children, we have good parents, we are eating well, we are breathing well; we are living well, we are not in a difficulty. It means anything that you can explain as a favor is a mercy that Allah swt favored you with. Breathing is a mercy. If that breathing stops, y'Allah swt goes away. So every action, even the smallest one, is a mercy. And who is that mercy? - It is Muhammad (s). Allah swt said, "We sent you not except as mercy." So it means all these mercies we are receiving are coming to us through the Prophet (s).

It is not shirk. The Prophet (s)   said, "ana al-Haashir, wa ana al-Maahi, wa ana Abu'l-Qaasim, wa ana Taha wa Yasin." – 'I am the one taking sins away and on resurrection the one to whom all people run on Judgment Day. And I am Taha and Yasin. And I am Abul –Qaasim. Allah swt gave me the responsibility of dividing that mercy on humanity.'

So that heavy burden that is on awliyaullah, from what they inherit of the mercy of the Prophet (s)   , they carry our dirtiness. As we were explaining two sessions before, Grandshaykh said, "The Prophet (s) said to me in my seclusions, your job" (he said to Grandshaykh, Shaykh Abdullah al-Faiz ad-Daghestani, Sultan al-Awliya) "is that you have to carry the dirtiness of everyone and you have to be able to take responsibility for what they have done. You have to purify them and clean them and you have to present them to me and I present them to the Divine Presence."

That is big. That is two lines but it makes you stunned. It makes us look into it carefully: that the Prophet (s)   is saying "your job" - it means he has been assigned a job. It means he has been assigned an authority from the Prophet (s)   meaning from the Prophet (s)   to him and from Allah swt to the Prophet (s)   that he has to carry from everyone.

What does carry from someone mean? It means he has to be in everyone's [all human beings] lives. He has to be with everyone in every moment of his or her life or how will he carry from everyone? How will he know what they are doing? He has to carry them and carry their difficulties and problems and then purify them and then give them back to the Prophet (s) clean.

It is not an easy thing to be waliullah. It is not as they say "O, everyone is a wali." It might be that everyone is wali on a common level but there are higher levels.

And he has to carry their burdens.

Mathalu alladheena hummilo't-tawrata thumma lam yahmilooha kamathali'l-himari yahmilu asfaaran b'isa mathalu'l-qawmilladheena kadhdhaboo bi-ayaatillahi w'Allahu laa yahdee l-qawma'dh-dhalimeen.

62:5 The similitude of those who were charged with the (obligations of the) Mosaic Law, but who subsequently failed in those (obligations), is that of a donkey which carries huge tomes (but understands them not). Evil is the similitude of people who falsify the Signs of Allah. and Allah guides not people who do wrong.  Al-Jumu'ah [62:5]

Allah swt is describing those going astray are like a donkey carrying his dirtiness on his back. All of us, unfortunately, (O, don't make us donkeys - I am between all of you), can we say we have no sins? What are we carrying then? Sins are what? They are dirtiness. They are like a child who messed himself. It is smelly. So what do you do? You go clean that child. Ok, who cleans the child? - The one who is responsible. Clean it, take the crap, wrap it up, and throw it away. Today they are selling these pampers these diapers. They are selling them. You must be happy, young ones. In previous times when you were child, and when I was child, think how they were cleaning us. They take these diapers, it was like a cloth; they clean it or wrap it, those who are responsible or parents. They wash it. How much did their hands become clean when they do that?

Can you do that now, to wash the young people? They are very expensive, but Shaytan is making us to waste. Cleaning them, boiling with soap, then rinse them, and hang them to dry. Then clean the child every day as well. Today you are cleaning 10-15 diapers. Show me today one man or woman who can do that. That process is being done by the one on authority. We are like children. In the eyes of awliyaullah we are like children; every moment we are falling into a trap of shaytan, and falling into sins. Like a donkey carrying a load himl, load of what? - A load of anything. So what kind of load are we carrying, that breaks our backs? If hasanaat, it doesn't break our backs. What breaks our backs is what Allah swt doesn't like us to do. So what are they doing, those responsible for us? They are taking that dirtiness and cleaning us of that dirtiness. That is the meaning of guide. That is their duty, 24-7: to take and clean us.

Allah swt left the Prophet (s) fresh alive, in his grave, present. If we cannot see, there are awliya who can see him. If the Prophet (s) disappeared then everything would fall down. Allah swt created the heavens without any supports:

Allahu alladhee rafa`a as-samawati bi-ghayri `amadin tarawnaha thumma istawa `ala al-`arsh.

Allah is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; is firmly established on the throne (of authority); Ar-Ra'd [13:2]

Allah swt created the heavens, meaning what we are seeing, without any pillar. Who is the pillar? There is an abstract hidden pillar that we cannot see. If that pillar will move everything will fall down. That is Sayyidina Muhammad (s); he is the pillar of creation. That is why He created first Sayyidina Muhammad   as he is the pillar. When you make the infrastructure for a building, you must put first a foundation. The Prophet (s) is the foundation; he is the first, and cannot be last. He is the first and he is the last. And all that is between.

So what Allah swt said, the Prophet (s) said: "What Allah swt created first is my light and," he said, "I was a prophet when Adam   between clay and water. If the Prophet (s) was not carrying, then everything would fall down. Even human beings will fall down.

Why are human beings standing? What is it that keeps them straight? It is the spine. If the spine is crooked what will happen? You fall down. The one who is the spine for the universe is Sayyidina Muhammad (s). If that spine of the universe is taken away then the universe will fall. The awliyaullah are the spine after the Prophet (s) to guide the Ummah and take them to right way.

If there was no dhikr tonight, that earthquake would have been ten times worse than what happened. It would have been an 8.2. It would have been so strong that everything would move. From last night to Fajr I was not well. I was seeing things that made me uncomfortable. At 6:30 I went up, and as soon as I lay down I slept. I was feeling very, very tired. When I was sleeping, my body was completely shuddering like an earthquake. I said there is going to be something today. So when we were in dhikr that earthquake came and that dhikr made it very, very mild.

There are among awliyaullah those who are carrying and responsible and they present to Grand Shaykh and Grand Grandshaykh through the line to the Prophet (s). So he said, I am carrying; not only that, but I am cleaning what I am seeing and I am purifying and uttahirra purifying it completely and delivering those people to the Prophet (s). Clean. Then the Prophet (s)   is delivering them to Allah swt . He said that everyone that follows usul ash-Shariah, meaning he keeps the Shariah very well and besides that, he keeps the tariqah the reality of things, and the ma`rifatullah will be given a mindhaar, binoculars. They will give him one, in order that he will be able to use it; this is a heavenly one, not like the earthly one with which you can see in UV light. The heavenly one can see not only UV light but if he looks inside the sun he can see what is inside the sun even. Scientists cannot look into the sun. What will happen? First we would go blind, then we would become vaporized, and then we would become nothing; plasma.

So those awliyaullah are given binoculars that don't let you go to plasma and evaporate. They can see in any kind of conditions. Allah swt gave them this kind of binoculars. They use it to guide their followers to the right way.

Grandshaykh said I have been given one to be able to use for my students and to prepare them and to make them ready to be able to receive manifestations of different knowledge that Allah swt will be sending to the Ummah.

It means he is preparing everyone to be able to carry a binocular smaller than that; it depends on the level of the student who is progressing. So what is needed from us? They keep usul ash-Shariah and usul at-tariqah well. We will continue next time, bi-hurmatil-Fatiha.

Dr. Nazeer: You know there is a square and oranges in the courtyard [of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim in Cyprus]. I ventured into the courtyard and broke an orange and no one stopped me. I ate the sweetest orange I ever ate; even the seeds were sweet and the skin was sweet. It was so good I broke another, and another, and another - four of them and I ate them and shared with another brother. There is a brother who has store at the entrance, and I took him along and told him he must taste the orange. I took from the left side of tree, so I told him you must take one or two oranges and give them to him. He said, "What? This is the most sour orange I ever tasted." I could not figure out why one side was sour and the other was sweet. It was sour for him and for us.

I kept asking who planted the tree, and then I asked gentleman who helps Mawlana Shaykh. I was taking another orange and he said, "Don't do it." I said, "Why?" He said, "That tree is in the middle of the courtyard it is for decoration and he sees it when he comes out."

I looked at it and I figured out that when he comes out his gaze falls on this side of the tree.

Shaykh Hisham:

This is one of the reasons. And the second reason is that when he makes adhan in the morning that sweetness goes on the field. The third reason is to show you both sides of human beings; the sweet side and the sour side. We were just describing that awliyaullah clean the human being and that is one of the means to clean humans. There are many that we don't know. Many people have different experiences with Mawlana. Like he asked a question and Mawlana shouted at him.
