O Muslims, brothers and sisters, I came from a long distance not because I like to come but because I had to come. Because it is a duty on us, and on everyone to remind each other about what is good and what is bad. I am not here to lecture to you, I am lecturing to myself. I am reminding myself first of all and then you like to accept or you don't like it is up to you. I am not that one that going to say, "I am this famous or I am this scholar. I am this or that." No, I am the lowest between you. And what makes us great is when we attach ourselves to Sayyidina Muhammad (s), that is what makes us great. Else we are normal human being. We eat we drink we and we look after our desires and sleep and die. But if we connect ourselves to Sayyidina Muhammad (s) we never die, because our hearts will be alive and our body will be alive in the grave, as the Prophet (s) mentioned and the Holy Qur'an mentioned that our grave will be a paradise to those who are following the right path. We cannot play, we cannot pay with Allah swt, we cannot play with his religion. Allah sent a religion to every community. Every community has its own religion. We have to advise ourselves. Our religion is to ourselves between us and Allah swt we must not argue about religion. We must come closer to Allah swt. O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things). Al-Hujurat [49:13] So it means the one who is righteous and sincere is the one who is going to be saved. There are many who believed in Sayyidina Ibrahim, they accepted him and followed him. Do we say these people are going to go to hell? No. Are these people going to be punished. No. Many people believe in Sayyidina Musa . Can we say these people Are they going to be sent to hell? No. they believed in what Sayyidina Musa came with. Those who believed in Sayyidina `Isa, Jesus, the Hawariyoon, his disciples , can we say these people are going to hell? No. Those people who accepted Sayyidina Muhammad (s) accepted all religions. It is our duty to tolerate, no not tolerate, tolerate is out of our dictionary. It is to accept. To accept people of all religions…we are not on Mars. Allah created us and put us on earth. Why we are on earth is another discussion. Why we are not on Venus or Mars or Pluto is a different question. Are there other creations there or not is another discussion. But we were placed on earth. Who is Insan al-Kaamil. [Sayyidina Muhammad (s).] that means the complete perfect personality that Allah swt gave to His servant as a gift. He is a servant to allah swt, and he is proud of that, and he is perfect. What does perfection mean, al-Insan al-Kamil. The complete human being. You have a computer that has all kinds of a big memory and has all kinds of things in it. If one chip is missing the whole computer falls down. It has to be perfect, else it will go down. If anything is missing the whole computer will crash. Sometimes you go to the airport and you cannot do anything due to one chip, or one glitch. One glitch shuts whole computer down. The Insan al-Kaamil has no glitch in it, he has no imperfection. That perfection is reflect to us. And I am speaking of all human being, because the Prophet (s) was sent to humanity. And as bro. Ahmad Maqsood, Wa ma arsalnaaka illa rahmatan lil-`alameen. We sent you not but as mercy for alameen. For everyone and for everything. Anything living on this planet is under the name `alameen. Even a worm, even an ant has to receive from that perfection that Allah put on Sayyidina Muhammad (s). That is why an ant was speaking when Sayyidina Sulayman was coming. She was urging all the other ants to come in or else Sayyidina Sulayman and his army would destroy them. And that is from a perfection that Sayyidina Sulayman is receiving from the soul of Sayyidina Muhammad (s). and that is mentioned in many hadith and some people might say that hadith is da`eef as some say or maqbool or hasan, , and that is our belief, whatever thy want to say, they say, they have their beliefs and we have our beliefs, but that hadith says, the first that Allah created of Sayyidina Muhammad (s)." "I was a prophet and Adam between clay and water." So our duty is to be inheriting what the prophet said to us. To be perfect. Else everything in us will shutdown. If someone has a heart problem and they say, an artery is blocked you have to make angioplasty or you will die. What about the artery that connects us to Sayyidina Muhammad (s).? Awliyaullah and sincere people. Allah mentioned in the Holy Qur'an, ala inna awliyaullah.. those sincere people they have nothing to worry about. Without that connection the Ummah is lost. That is why we see today the Ummah is lost.. I don't want to not criticize, we must criticize in order to build ourselves back. We don't know who to follow today. كُلُّ حِزْبٍ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ Kulli hizbin bima ladayhim farihoon – each party rejoices in that which is with itself. 23:53 Every group is happy with what they have. Ok you are happy with that, but you are free to your own opinion but don't impose it on others. Ok you may have your opinion but also seek the opinion of those with you. Just now Mawlana Shaykh Ababakr, mentioned something. And for although I go along with it, I accept for sure he is my teacher, my shaykh , whatever, and with all my due respect, I might differ - not out of criticism, no istaghfirullah - but out of ideas. It is that: Why we go for Arafat? This is my own opinion this is how I understand it. We go to Arafat because if you don't go to Arafat, your pilgrimage is not accepted. Al-hajju arafat. Why Allah wants to gather everyone there on Arafat? To show the unity and to show that they are not asking anyone's help except Allah's swt. They are asking Allah swt directly and interceding with Sayyidina Muhammad (s). because Allah mentioned in Holy Qur'an, to some Sahaba, if you have problems, if you were oppressors to yourselves go the Prophet (s). وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلاَّ لِيُطَاعَ بِإِذْنِ اللّهِ وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ إِذ ظَّلَمُواْ أَنفُسَهُمْ جَآؤُوكَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُواْ اللّهَ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُمُ الرَّسُولُ لَوَجَدُواْ اللّهَ تَوَّابًا رَّحِيمًا Wa maa arsalnaa min rasoolin illa liyuta`a bidhnllahi wa law annahum idh dhalamoo anfusahum ja'ooka fa 'staghfaroollaha wa'staghfara lahumur-rasoolu la-wajadoollaha tawwaaban raheema. We sent not an apostle, but to be obeyed, in accordance with the will of Allah. If they had only, when they were unjust to themselves, come unto thee and asked Allah's forgiveness, and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah indeed Oft-returning, Most Merciful. An-Nisa [4:64] If they made problems or did something wrong, and how much we are oppressing ourselves. Are we perfect ? No. and where we have to go when we oppress ourselves. We have to go to the Prophet (s). Go to Muhammad (s). are we going to our leader, to the Seal of messengers, to ask him to intercede with Allah for us. There you make istighfaar in his presence. Are we keeping connection with the Prophet (s) for every action we do, in our heart. Look at children you see them on the street or everywhere. Wearing shirts: Spiderman. Other than that? Superman. Other than that? Frogman? Batman? They are connected. They feel that connection they are doing their actions with the connection that Hollywood gave to them. We are not giving our children enough ot show importance of the prophet from childhood. Allah gave to us Sayyidina Muhammad (s) and we aren't giving our children enough importance to show importance to Sayyidina Muhammad (s) from childhood. We are preventing the celebration all kinds of mawalid, people are preventing it in order that destroy that connection with the Prophet (s) . Look how much I appreciate what the students of Sayyidina `Isa, they are doing today. Christians, you go everywhere you see all these lights in Christmas time, in the time of Sayyidina `Isa's birthday. And for Sayyidina Muhammad (s) we are shutting all the lights off. So our duty is to bring that love in our children and Sayyidina Muhammad (s) leadership… in this nation in order to bring that connection. When we get that connection then our chip it blockage is no longer there, then our connection goes directly there. So let us go back to the issue of Arafat. We go to Arafat for what purpose? To call on Allah swt. There everyone is calling labayk Allahuma labayk. Labayk la shareek laka labayk… We are all there everyone, white color wearing, no dust, we want to come to you pure Ya Rabbee, coming to you clean, wearing completely white, coming to a sacred place calling you in one voice to solve our problems. Today where are going to solve our problems. On the street. We are going to make demonstrations. For what demonstrations? To make more fitna, more problems. Go to masajid and sit and pray. Ask Allah swt to give you what you want, what you need and what you are asking. We are not people qawaiyoon, that create confusion for nothing. We go thousands of people on the streets, facing each other, throwing the police, coming against …for what? That is not Islam. Islam is go to your mosque, go to your home. Sit with your family. Ask "Ya Rabbee forgive us. This is something coming on us because we are not doing well." Look from the beginning of life on earth, this is from day one. When Adam was coming on earth what happened between the two brothers. There was a struggle, between good and evil. One good, one evil. He wanted to kill his brother when Allah ordered them to make a sacrifice. Haabil went and brought the best sheep he has, and the Caabil, Cain went and brought the worst that the has. He was saying for what does Allah need from my sheep. He is al-ghani, the Rich. I give him the worst the sick one. لَئِن بَسَطتَ إِلَيَّ يَدَكَ لِتَقْتُلَنِي مَا أَنَاْ بِبَاسِطٍ يَدِيَ إِلَيْكَ لَأَقْتُلَكَ إِنِّي أَخَافُ اللّهَ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ Lain basatta ilayya yadaka li-taqtulanee maa ana bi-baasitin yadiya ilayka li-aqtulak. innee akhafu Allaha rabba al-`alameena "If thou dost stretch thy hand against me, to slay me, it is not for me to stretch my hand against thee to slay thee: for I do fear Allah, the cherisher of the worlds. 5:28 You are going to extend your hand to kill me but I will not extend my hand ot kill you. I am not going to open my hand against my brother. You are going to kill me Allah will defend me. This one got paradise. and this one got punishment. O Muslim brothers and sisters. We live in western countries. We have to know the law here and follow it. Many of us, have been born here. They are really British citizens. They are British citizens. The others are naturalized citizens. But we have to abide with the law. When the Prophet sent the Muslims as Shaykh AbaBakr mentioned, to Abyssinia, they worked with the king of that time. So what is our duty. It is to work with the government. We are not happy, leave and go peacefully, you don't need to bother yourself. You are happy here, then we have to thank Allah day and night. If we are living in Somalia, because this is Somali event tonight. What happened there? Tens of years they are fighting now. And many other races and nationalities are coming for living. As the Prophet (s) said, and I mentioned before, why the prophet sent them to Abyssinia. Why he didn't sent them to China, to India. West of Mecca is where? He sent them to Abyssinia and to the west. Symbolizing that you will find safe have in the west. That is why all Muslims are running to find safety in the west. Did you find anyone running to find asylum in Indonesia, or Thailand or Japan, very few. Did you see any Muslim running to china? That is the indication of Sayyidina Muhammad (s) when he was mentioning to go to Abyssinia is to the west. And to abide by the law. Our duty, o brothers and sisters I am not coming here to teach you. I know that you are all very well religious or you will not come here. But I would like to say that we are working very well in Indonesia for young ones to bring them back to their normal life. Because our young people are lost in many problem, like Indonesia, like in America, like everywhere, lost in drugs, and in all kinds of problems they face in their lives. All kind of people we are seeing every day coming to seek refuge in Sufism. And now even we are seeing today many Muslims scholars' who 5 or 6 years ago they are now saying we are Sufi scholars. All around the world. In countries where there was no celebration of Prophet's birthday, there are now celebrations of the Prophet (s)'s birthday in countries where that were preventing it. All that is baraka of those who are turning back to their religion and turning back to their connection with Sayyidina Muhammad (s). So in Indonesia we are rehabilitating the young ones, we are rehabilitating them from Jihad and. I don't want to say, he is correct Shaykh Abu Bakr, jihad is a struggle, you can have jihad for your health and you can have jihad of education and that is the general meaning. So will have a story in front of these official and we need their support as ..implementing things that are bothering and they are really in the mind of the youth. I will tell you that story that happened to me in Indonesia. Every Fajr after prayers we have time, usually I go to stay there for 21 days, after Fajr and until ishraaq we have a Sufi lecture. And we have 200, 3000, people attending . it varies between 2000, 33000 and like that. Then one day I saw a group of about 10 people coming. I don't know them. And they are dressing a certain dress that is dressed by certain organization even in this country they have this dress, even in the subcontinent. So we recognize them by their way of dress. So they came and they ate with the people, as we serve food to the people. So we didn't ask them anything. That is our way. We don't ask people anything they come they go, as they like. So they were coming 10 days and we didn't ask them anything. After ten days they came and said, "we like your teachings." I said, "Alhamdulillah that is good." And they said, "we want you to come to our mosque and tech there. there are like 10,000 people like us there." so I said, "ok where is your mosque." … my shaykh he is my master, he is my shaykh he is my father in law. He is my master and I am under his feet. He is one of the pious sincere masters of Sufism. … So after we made the ceremony of the baya they look at me in front of all these 10,000 people and they said, now we have made our pledge, now where do we go for jihad." So for 10 days they are listening to me telling them the principles of war do not apply any longer. But still after that they are saying, "where is the jihad?" …they don't think too much about extremism and radicalism and violence. They begin to go for their normal life and to go to work. That was like 5 years ago. That whole mosque was changed like that. That is why we have to have support like such officials as you have here…without such support, you cannot change, as Shaykh Ababakr or Shaykh ?? said, I made my research with my time in England with my travel around I found the most of the mosques have been put by pirs from the subcontinent who accept Sufism. And the rest of the mosques are put by those who do not follow Sufism. We pray they will go with us and they are praying that we go with them and we will see where it is going to end. But he majority of the Islamic centers, I went to many cities and asked how many mosques. They say, we have 20, 30. and I ask how many of them are Sufi, and they say, "most of them." And the problem is the authorities that they extend their hands to those who are not of this way. … You have only one opinion. The other opinion is coming up. But you have to support the other opinion in order that it will come up. I am very happy with the British people, with the queen with the pm, with the govt. that here they open the government to give grants. And in US you cannot do that. If we have support we can make such events, even every night we can do that. … build mosques and centers in order to spread th message of Sufism. I hope my message will spread and be heard by those who give grants. If any organization gets a grant they can do what they want as long as they are peaceful and work with others. But to use grants in order to build violent movement … the Prophet (s) mentioned there will come a time which will be like chunks of dark lights. Sawfa takoona fitanin kal-qata`at il-layl al-mudhlim. Break your bows and arrows. Scholars are here. Break your weapons he never accepted for people to carry weapons for no reason. He said break your weapons and throw them. When there is confusion don't pour oil on the fir that will make it difficult. We don't want to blame one country over another. History will not give any credit to anyone. Look up to now they are still cursing Adolf Hitler. The Prophet (s) taught us to fight against shaytan, our evil and our devil. That is where we try to put our weapons, which are spiritual weapons by directing against shaytan. May Allah bless you , and support you and support all nations all around world. Allah owns everyone of them. Give back the amana that Allah gave to us. إِنَّا عَرَضْنَا الْأَمَانَةَ عَلَى السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَالْجِبَالِ فَأَبَيْنَ أَن يَحْمِلْنَهَا وَأَشْفَقْنَ مِنْهَا وَحَمَلَهَا الْإِنسَانُ إِنَّهُ كَانَ ظَلُومًا جَهُولًا Inna `aradna al-amaanatu `ala as-samawaati wa'l-ardi wa'l-jibaal fa-abayna an yahmilnaha wa ashfaqna minha fa-hamalaha 'l-insaanu innahu kaana dhalooman jahoola. We did indeed offer the Trust to the Heavens and the Earth and the Mountains; but they refused to undertake it, being afraid thereof: but man undertook it;- He was indeed unjust and foolish; Al-Ahzab [33:72] "We have asked heavens and earth to carry the truth, the trust yourself to carry the amana. The heavens and earth said, no that is too much. We cannot take it. But we took it and we are ignorant and oppressors." My advice o brothers and sisters to me and to you, don't take it too much, is mind your own business. Look after your children, look after your community. Every day I see someone coming to me crying. O my son he is on drugs. O my son he has joined an extremist organization. Allah is going to ask you. What you have done for the community you are living in? You cannot say no. show the Muslims and non-Muslim that you care for everyone and you want to live in peace. Thank you everyone, as-salaam alaykum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh. |
